Out of the Night

Out of the night comes
our timid realization of fear
The unknown and strange calls
They howl continuously to
The tribal blood of our cells

And all at once
At
Some point
They lay down their swords
And unsheath their arrows
In the wind

And we hear nothing
And fear takes its rest
For the time being....
As we may do the same
All at once
At
Some point

During that dream state
Of such anguished temperament
Is a time, we must face
When the red hot edge
Of our intent
Can cut through
the binding night,
To return,

Back into the welcoming kiss
